How to repaint a Stripped Surface

Step 1

Ensure that the surface to be painted is free from paint stripper and dust. If the surface had been cleaned with a wet or damp cloth, ensure that it has dried out completely.

Step 2

First apply an undercoat, using even strokes to cover the entire surface. This will ensure that the topcoat binds properly to the wooden surface. The picture shows Plascon Universal Undercoat being used. Once the undercoat has been applied, leave it to dry thoroughly.

Step 3

You are now ready to apply the topcoat. In this case Plascon Velvaglo was used. First ensure that both the surface to be painted and the immediate environment are dust-free. Apply the first layer of topcoat. Leave it to dry properly before applying a second and third coat, allowing sufficient drying time between coats.
