You will need:
- HTH Shock It
- 50 mm Paint brush
- Paint tray and roller
- Paving paint
- Garden broom
- Protective clothing
Before any painting can commence, you will have to clean the paving, removing all growing organisms like moss and any oil stains. Wearing protective clothing, sprinkle HTH Shock It over the surface and then scrub it thoroughly. Then rinse the paved surface well with water and leave it to dry thoroughly.
Once the surface is completely dry, you can apply the first coat. It is important to choose a good quality paving paint. We used PaveCoat from Gripseal. Ensure that the ambient temperature is not above 50°C when you paint your paving. Stir the paint well and follow all the instructions on the packaging. Apply the first coat of paint. You will notice that most of this coat is absorbed into the paving. Leave it to dry for 4 – 6 hours or overnight.
Now apply for a second coat. Again leave it to dry as indicated above.
Apply a third coat if this appears to be necessary. Leave the painted surface to dry for a full 24 hours before using it.
